Approximately 8500 hectares.



Topography

Due to the position in the foothills of the Talamanca mountain range, Durika mountain (3,280 m.a.s.l), the land is inclined, with deep canyons, ridges that join up to the continental divide and a few flat areas.

Geology

Characterized for it’s sedimentary rock of the tertiary and Mesozoic (Paleocene, Pliocene, organic period and post organic) mainly marine sedimentation and some land (Pliocene) with insertions of volcanic rock, typical of the west edge of the Talamanca Mountain Range.

Elevations

The elevations of the D.F.B.R go from 1.400 m.a.s.l. at the Dlora River, to the highest point at the Arbolado mountain (continental divide) at 2,800 m.a.s.l. The Durika community is at 1,650 meters.
